Oct Meeting. Tim Hahn: Road Tripping for Birds – Planning Travel in Search of Life Birds.

October 20, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Since Tim became a birder in 2002, he primarily stuck to birding in Wisconsin, but given the opportunity in 2021, he began traveling America in search of life birds. By leveraging eBird and other applications, he created custom travel itineraries to efficiently target life birds. Tim will share his experiences planning travel and searching for life birds in North America.

Tim Hahn is an avid birder from Waukesha, WI. He serves on the board of the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology and is lead editor of their quarterly publication The Passenger Pigeon Journal, he serves as vice president for the Benjamin F. Goss Bird Club in Waukesha, and he serves on the eBird review team for Wisconsin. Tim has led bird walks annually for the Horicon Marsh Bird Festival. He considers Horicon one of the most special natural places in Wisconsin. Recently, Tim has given into his wanderlust, traveling around the country to see new places and new birds. Since June 2021 he has traveled to the Smoky Mountains, Rio Grande Valley, the Sandhills of Nebraska, the Florida Keys and the Everglades, southern Canada and New England, and through the UP and north woods of Wisconsin and Minnesota.
