This will be a festival exclusive event as the Old Marsh Road is not open at this time of year to the general public. Park at the boardwalk parking lot off of the Auto Tour and then walk to the west end of Old Marsh Road to meet your guide. We will walk out from the west end of Old Marsh Road birding along the way out about a mile then walk back. Target birds will be marsh birds, yellow-headed blackbirds, terns and waterfowl. Shorebirds will be a possibility as well. Spotting scopes may be useful on this trip but not required. Park at the Egret Trail boardwalk parking lot off of the refuge auto tour off Hwy 49.
