This will be a festival exclusive event as the Old Marsh Road is not open at this time of year to the general public. We will walk about 1.25 miles out from the east end of Old Marsh Road birding along the way and then walk back. Target birds will be marsh birds, yellow-headed blackbirds, terns and waterfowl. Shorebirds will be a possibility as well. This end of Old Marsh Road has a little more forested area and warblers can be spotted along the way. Spotting scopes may be useful on this trip but not required.
Meet at the east end of Old Marsh Road. Road parking along Point Road is available. Total walked mileage is approximately 2.5 miles. Please consider a donation to the Friends of Horicon National Wildlife Refuge.
