February Meeting – BIG YEAR BIRDING ADVENTURES

February 17, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Please join us on February 17th  at 6:30 PM  see the zoom link below

Lynn E. Barber was born in Wisconsin and has lived in Alaska, Oregon, North
Carolina, Texas, South Dakota, Alaska again, and since 2021, Wisconsin again. Lynn’s passion for birding has shown itself in her love of doing birding big years, which she has done in Texas, South Dakota and Alaska, and across the continental U.S. and Canada (an “ABA big year”). She currently holds the record for most birds found in a
single year in Texas (2005) and Alaska (2016). She will speak about the highlights of her
Texas, Alaska and ABA big years, as well as her preparation for them, and will show photographs of some of the birds seen during those years.

She has been active in local birding organizations for many years and is past president of the Texas
Ornithological Society and the Fort Worth Audubon Society.

Barber is the author (and illustrator) of Extreme Birder: One Woman’s Big Year (2011), Birds in Trouble (2016), and Big Years, Biggest States: Birding in Texas and Alaska (2020).
